How we're funded:
We are privately funded by individuals, businesses, and grants. For one child served, this program costs approximately $26 a year for 12 books. At this time, postage is included in this costs.
All books received are age-appropriate, chosen by a panel of education experts. Each book is specifically printed for this programs, with helpful hints for parents printed inside to increase engagement. Thanks in part to the Dollywood Foundation and Penguin Publishing, the cost for 12 books is kept relatively low. Please consider giving the gift of books so that every child has the opportunity to love reading!
We are looking for Founding Sponsors to help get this direct service program started and help sustain our registration fees. A gift of $1,000 or more in 2015 will give you this special donor designation. We can't do it with out your support!
Still not sure? Often, states plan the number of prison cells they will need based on literacy levels of grade school kids.
